Sheltons Solicitors offer a fixed fee divorce service, which has been developed to provide a cost effective solution to divorce proceedings.
We also offer advise upon divorce and separation where the divorce is defended.
The cost of our fixed fee divorce service depends on whether you are:
The costs of any disbursements will be the same with any firm as they relate to court fees, and it may be possible to recover some of the costs back from your spouse.
Payment for our costs can be spread (interest free) over 6 monthly instalments as we appreciate that going through a divorce can be a stressful time and that it is not always easy to find the full cost of the process upfront. We believe that it is helpful for our clients to know at the outset what the divorce process will cost and when they will need to make the payments.
Our fixed fee divorce instalment payments plan includes all steps from initial instruction through to obtaining the Decree Absolute, which finalises the divorce.
These services can all be provided if needed but are not included within the fixed fee above.
Should you wish to Cross Petition or defend the divorce this will mean additional work which will be charged at the relevant fee earners hourly rate. Any work on finances or children will also be outside the fixed fee. We would, however, provide full cost estimates before commencing any work for you and can similarly arrange for any costs to be paid in instalments.
To arrange your free initial assessment please call us and speak with one of the members of our Sheltons family team.
It is helpful if you could bring along to that meeting (but not a problem if you forget!):
We can offer appointments at our Bulwell, Carlton and Hucknall Offices.

Family Law - When engaging Lisa it was a time when I needed assistance to round everything up and drive the process through. I found the way she approached the task was friendly and had empathy which is a rare quality. I would also say that Lisa was always on the ball and at every step gave me good advice with examples to refer to, which helped in dealing with sensitive issues as a task. I find her approachable, personable, confident in her ability to close out to the benefit of the client.
